According to a source, during his imprisonment, Donald Trump implored Melania Trump to stand by his side.

Melania Trump was seen for the first time in nearly two weeks on Sunday when she accompanied her husband, Donald Trump, to Mar-a-Lago for the traditional Easter brunch. The former First Lady had not been seen in public or made any statements in the days preceding the weekend, fueling suspicion about Donald Trump’s indictment and incarceration.

Melania’s office spoke out for the first time since Donald’s arrest on Tuesday morning. The statement came two days after Melania made her first social media post since the indictment.

Currently, stories differ on how good – or horrible – Donald and Melania’s relationship is.

Though Melania was believed to be furious at her husband, insiders close to her say Donald sat down with her and urged her to stay by his side.

The inquiry against Donald Trump centers on an alleged $130,000 “hush money” payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

The indictment, verified by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, made Trump the first former president in US history to be charged with a crime. Trump is charged with 34 felony charges of falsifying company records.

He pleaded not guilty to falsifying company records to conceal embarrassing information before the 2016 presidential election (in other words, bribing Stormy Daniels not to divulge their affair).
