Five younger siblings are adopted by a single father in order to raise them all together.
Not every hero wears a cape. They may simply decide to make a significant difference in the lives of children. Lamont Thomas is one of these people, who decided to adopt five siblings at once in Buffalo, New York, in October of 2019. His reasoning was simple: otherwise, the five children, ages one to five, would have been separated.

Lamont Thomas has always wanted to help children. He demonstrated this once more on October 17th, 2019, when he adopted five siblings. Lamont is now the proud father of 12 children, thanks to this adoption.
According to ABC News, the children Lamont recently adopted are five, four, three, two, and one-year-old. The single father had seven other children prior to this adoption. This is in addition to the dozens of foster children he has cared for over the last two decades.
Lamont’s journey to fatherhood began in 2000 when he became a foster parent to care for a friend’s child. Lamont’s brood includes his two biological children, Anthony and LaMonica.

Lamont adopted twins Germayne and Tremayne in 2007, followed by Jamie and German. According to ABC News, Lamont adopted Michael, the first child he had ever fostered, after these four adoptions.
Lamont has never turned away a child. He either keeps them until they are old enough to leave the system and return to their families, or he adopts them himself.
Lamont thought he was finished adopting children until he learned that the children of one of his former foster children needed to be taken in to avoid separation. In 2019, he told Good Morning America:
«They had them in four different homes and cities… They are entitled to be raised as siblings, and that was my battle.»
Zendaya, five, Jamel, four, Nakia, three, Major, two, and Michaela, one, were placed in four different homes. This broke Lamont’s heart, but he was determined that the siblings would be reunited.

Lamont is energized by the young children, and he is overjoyed to be able to provide for them. His story, hopefully, will inspire others to think about fostering children in need.
